A few minutes from Bellamonte begins the Paneveggio – Pale di San Martino Nature Park: Lake Forte Buso, the spruce forest that provides the wood for musical instruments, the visitor centre with the deer and a trail with a suspension bridge suitable for pushchairs too.

01 · VISITOR CENTRE
The deer and the story of the forest.
The Park's visitor centre is housed in a former sawmill from 1919, near Lake Forte Buso, and tells the story of the Forest of the Violins; next to it is the deer enclosure.
- Summer 2026: daily from 20 June to 13 September, 9–12:30 and 13:30–17; in July and August open all day 9–17:30
- Weekends in September and October until 1 November
- Full ticket €5 (valid for one week), reduced €2.50, combined with Villa Welsperg €8
- Free for children and for holders of the Trentino Guest Card or the Fiemme Cembra Guest Card
- From the few deer that escaped the enclosure in 1963, more than 2,000 now live in the park's woods
02 · FOREST OF THE VIOLINS
The wood that becomes music.
The Paneveggio forest is largely Norway spruce: the resonance wood is cut on a waning moon between October and November and goes to soundboard makers and to the violin makers of Cremona.

03 · TRAIL AND LAKE
The suspension bridge and the lake.
The Marciò Trail is the easiest loop in the park and crosses above the Travignolo gorge; Lake Forte Buso is the large reservoir below Paneveggio.
- Marciò Trail: about 2 km, 1 hour, minimal ascent, suspension bridge; suitable for prams and people with reduced mobility, open all year round
- Lake Forte Buso (or Lake Paneveggio): in the municipality of Predazzo, a 1950s dam, about 4 km from the residence
