Alpe Lusia, from the Bellamonte side.

The Bellamonte 3.0 gondola climbs from Castelir (1,553 m) to Le Fassane (1,793 m) and on to La Morea (1,967 m): 414 metres of ascent in 10-person cabins. The Alpe Lusia ski area links the Bellamonte side with the Moena side.

Snowshoe walks that start right here.

Routes described by the Val di Fiemme tourist board starting at Castelir or in the village, just a few minutes from the residence. The official descriptions require avalanche safety equipment: before setting out, check the snow conditions and the avalanche bulletin.

  • Forte Dossaccio: from Castelir, 8.1 km, 3 h 15’, +330 m, easy; it leads to an Austro-Hungarian fort from the First World War
  • Malga Canvere: from Castelir along a forest road, 6.8 km, 3 h 05’, +430 m, medium; you can carry on to Malga Bocche (another 3.4 km)
  • From Bellamonte to the Alpe Lusia slopes: from the information office, 9 km, 3 h 15’, +540 m, medium
  • Val Venegia: from Pian dei Casoni (about 10.5 km from the residence), easy, about 1 hour to Malga Venegia

03 · SLEDGING AND CROSS-COUNTRY

For those who don’t ski, or not only.

Bellamonte has a proper sledge run, with hire on site, and about 14 km away is the cross-country stadium of the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Rolle Pass (Passo Rolle) is part of the San Martino di Castrozza – Rolle Pass (Passo Rolle) area, within Dolomiti Superski, and is also included in the Fiemme-Obereggen ski pass.

Parking

At the Castelir gondola there are P1 and the new P2 with over 200 spaces, free for those heading to the slopes; an escalator and a lift take you up to the lift station square.

Ski pass

Alpe Lusia is in Dolomiti Superski (Alpe Lusia / San Pellegrino area) and in the Fiemme-Obereggen ski pass, which also covers Cermis, Latemar, Rolle Pass (Passo Rolle) and Oclini.

Safety

At Rolle Pass (Passo Rolle) helmets are compulsory for everyone; for snowshoeing and ski touring check the avalanche bulletin and carry avalanche safety equipment.
